Your motherboard has two different USB 3.0 controllers - the Intel controller and the ASMedia controller. They have separate drivers. This is because back in the day the Intel controller only supported a small number of ports so OEMs added a secondary controller to get some extra ports. The ports seem to work with the Intel USB 3 controller drivers but asmedia controller is nowhere to be found. I decided to move around my keyboard and mouse and disconnect everything else plugged into usb. The drivers installed exactly like they always had. No issues with the Asmedia Controller, it found it.
USB 3.0 Driver Issues
Has anyone had an issue with the ASMedia USB drivers making nothing work?
When a Microsoft backed driver (0.96 Microsoft) is installed, the headset works for about 5 minutes before crashing with an error in the Device Manager, and if you update the driver to a more recent version, the Mixed Reality Portal gives you error code 2181038087-12 because the driver is not licensed by Microsoft.
This seems like a common error from what I can see on the forums/quick googling but no one seems to have a solution. Hoping to get some traction here.
